bientotI wanted to take some time to think about last night's episode before making comments:

Nothing - just cute, cute line.
Peter, on moving in on Neal: "I just prefer tormenting you." And then goes on to prove it by first running Alex's prints, and then being offensively crass and crude with the sweat and the beer and the remote just to drive Neal out of the room so he can see what Neal was REALLY working on. He knows Neal trusts him and he abuses that trust - I didn't like that. I know, I know, it's for Neal's own good, to keep him out of prison by making sure he's not making mistakes, but there has to be a limit, doesn't there? It seems so unfair that Neal is the con man but Peter can con him without a second thought, just because Peter isa control freak such a dom manipulative The Good Guy.
Continuity quibble - when they first get off the elevator at Dan's place the camera follows them from behind the sculpture and there's no hat on it. But from the other side, there it is. Tsk.
Very cute as they both realize they'll have to take Dan back to the 'crime scene' - and YAY Lauren for getting him out of their hair before they embarrass themselves by being rude.
Um - the jades were Chinese but the Japanese claimed them? I'm sure the Chinese would be saying, 'Isn't that just like them?' but it still bothered me.
How The Date Went South: Peter ran Alex's prints, which (she has friends in high places, remember??) caused her to confront Neal. Peter never even apologizes for screwing the pooch - he even tries to blame Neal. Which meant Neal was alone when he got home and facing another gun. SO not fair, Peter!
So the fact that Neal told the Japanese he had to get Peter out of his place because of the snoring - not even close to payback. OTOH, nonplussed!Peter being handed his bags and having to smile about it - priceless!
One other quibble - El already told us Peter talks in his sleep. Would it be too much to ask that he say something mildly incriminating while sleeping (on Mozzie's couch??)?
Where was Moz, for that matter? El was upstate at her sister's with Satchmo, but there was no explanation of Moz's absence.
In summary, many mixed feelings about Peter's actions in this episode. Please convince me I'm wrong because I want to keep loving Peter unconditionally, but this week gave me pause. Does the nature of his relationship with Neal give him free rein to abuse Neal's trust so dramatically? If he keeps doing that (and/or screwing things up, as he did last week by pulling financial records on the clinic, etc.) how long will Neal continue to trust him? The angst-monkey in me wants this, but I don't want to see this beautiful friendship spoiled! Seriously torn.....
And they want us to wait TWO WEEKS for the next episode? WAHHHHHHHHH.
